TUESDAY, APRIL 14, 1992

proposal contains no recommended increase in refuse collection and
disposal fees and it was noted that the City Manager planned to return
to Council with a recommendation for rate adjustments once it is known
what solution will be adopted to handle the long-termsolid waste needs
of the City. Several Councilmen suggested that an examination of the
rate structure needs to be made in the near future, and City Manager
Reynolds stated that he would report back to Council on this matter.

Councilman Oakes asked for a report on the Rental Assistance Program in
2-3 months and stated that he had concerns which he would make known
after he had received the report.

After completing review of all items under the City Manager, Council
concurred that the budget work session tentatively scheduled for April
28, 1992 at 2:00 P.M. may? not need to be held unless further
information is received on the revised Virginia Retirement System
contribution rate or on the Social Services Budget.

Mayor McClain then declared this meeting adjourned.

La lerk of Council
