- TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 11, 1992
Council acknowledged a written report by Chief of Police Terry L. Roop
regarding security concerns at the Blue Ridge Regional Library. Mr.
Heater concurred with Chief Roop's comments that there is sufficient
legislation in the City and State Codes to deal with these problems and
the Library personnel should deal with them accordingly.

Council accepted a follow-up report from Director of Water Resources
John Dyches on repairs to Beaver Creek Dam Spillway. Mr. Dyches noted
that the repair work was complete, but there is still a question as to
where the initial seepage began, therefore, the situation is still
being monitored. D. Oakes, Councilman
Clyde L. Williams, and Acting City Manager Lance G. Heater to study
this matter and report back to Council with a recommendation as to what
position the City should take. Council asked the City Manager to
apprise Henry County of this action.

It was noted that all members of Council, except Vice-Mayor Groden, and
the Acting City Manager would be attending the Virginia Municipal
League Legislative Day in Richmond on Thursday, February 13, 1992.

Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council authorized
the Mayor to respond to a letter from Ms. Rebecc~ Ashburn, Rehabili-
tation Specialist for the MARC Workshop, commending their efforts in
