WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 29, 1992 <br />staff, to work with the City of Martinsville's committee (which had <br />been appointed January 28, 1992) consisting of Mayor Allan McClain, <br />Councilman Ge6rge B~ Adams, Jr., and the City~s Administrative staff, <br />along with Joyce Engineering. These committees are to keep their <br />governing body apprised of negotiations. <br /> <br /> Upon motion, duly seconded, and by unanimous vote, the Henry County <br /> <br /> Board of Supervisors authorized Joyce Engineering to study three <br />'additional sites for use as a landfill. It was noted that one of these <br /> <br /> sites would be the property adjacent to the City's existing landfill. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded, and by unanimous recorded vote, Mayor <br />McClain declared that City Council would recess and, in accordance with <br />Section 2.1-344(A), of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, and as amended), <br />would reconvene in Executive Session for the purpose of considering a <br />personnel matter under the jurisdiction of the Council, as authorized <br />by Subsection 1. <br /> <br />The Council reconvened in Executive Session at 5:30 p.m. in the Board <br />Room of Southwestern Virginia Gas Company with Mayor McClain presiding <br />and all members of Council being present as listed above. <br /> <br />At the conclusion of this Executive Session, Council reconvened into <br />regular session, wherein, by a recorded vote, each member of Council <br />certified that (1) only public business matters exempted from open <br />meeting requirements were discussed in said Executive Session; and (2) <br />ohly those business m~tters identified in the motibn convening the Exe- <br />cutive Session were heard, discussed'or considered during said Session. <br /> <br /> <br />
