TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 9. 1999 <br /> <br /> Council next considered approval, on first reading, of Ordinance No. 99-3 mending the City's <br />Business, Professional, Occupational License Tax Ordinance. Mr. Ronnie Minter, Commissioner of <br />Revenue, was present to speak on this item. Mr. Minter. informed Council that State Law in the matters <br />covered by the proposed amendment had changed, and their action on the matter would simply bring the <br />local ordinance in line with new State provisions. Council asked for some explanation and information on <br />the new legal provisions of the ordinance language, which 'was provided by Mr. Minter. Some concern <br />was expressed by Council concerning mandatory provisions of the new law, and on whether the new legal <br />requirements would affect noraprofit organizations or businesses. Following some research of the matters <br />both Mr. Minter and City Attorney David Worthy stated that they did not believe any non-profit <br />organizations or businesses would be affected by the new ordinance language. Following this discussion <br />Council approved Ordinance No. 99-3, on first reading, by the following vote, all members voting: <br />Vote: 5-0 <br /> <br />Yeas: (5) Crabtree, Dallas, Haskell, Roop, Teague. <br /> <br />Nays: (0) None. <br /> <br /> Council next considered approval. of the Consent Agenda. The Consent Agenda items <br />below were approved by Council by the following vote, all members voting: <br />Vote: 5-0 <br /> <br />Yeas: (5) Crabtree, Dallas, Haskell, Roop, Teague. <br /> <br />Nays: (0) None. <br /> <br />Accepted and appropriated $1,621.82 received from Fred Martin Associates as reimbursement for <br />repairs to air conditioning equipment at the School Board Office, by accepting $1,621.82 into <br /> <br /> <br />
