14 <br />TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 23, 1999 <br /> <br /> Vice Mayor Teague took a moment to mention that City Attorney David Worthy was absent due <br />to illness. <br /> <br /> Council next considered their Consent Agenda. The below items were approved by the following <br />vote, all members voting: <br />Vote: 4-0 <br /> <br />Yeas: (4) Dallas, Haskell, Roop, Teague. <br /> <br />Nays: (0) None. <br /> <br />Council set a public hearing on a request from Virginia Mirror Company, Inc., to abandon <br />that portion of South Moss Street which lies immediately between the property owned by the <br />applicant and the property now owned by Norfolk & Western Railway. This property lies <br />immediately SW of the existing crossing over the N&W right-of-way. The public hearing <br />was set for Council's regular meeting on March 9, 1998. <br /> <br />Accepted and appropriated $4,884.75 received from' State Forfeited Assets into Revenue 01- <br />000500-2404000 Police Confiscated Assets/State, and appropriated same to Expenditure- <br />01-310100-5415007--:-State Asset Forfeitures in the FY98-99 General Fund Budget for the <br />Police Department. <br /> <br />Accepted and appropriated $2,085 received as donations towards the City's local match for <br />purchase of a new van for the Senior Center through the Southern Area Agency on Aging, <br />into Revenue 01-000500-1899058--Donations/Senior Center, and appropriated same to <br />Expenditure 01-531000-7005000--Motor Vehicles/Equipment in the FY98-99 General Fund <br />Budget for Senior Services. <br /> <br />Accepted and appropriated $685.35 received from State Forfeited Assets into Revenue 01- <br />000500-2404020 Commonwealth Attorney Confiscated Assets/State, and appropriated <br />same to Expenditure 01-220100-5415007---Confiscated Assets/State in the FY98 -99 General <br />Fund Budget for the Commonwealth Attomey's Office. <br /> <br /> Council Member Roop asked what was to happen on Moss Street, under Item A., above. Mr. <br />Wayne Knox, Planning, Zoning, and Housing Manager in the Community Development Department <br />explained that this action was a result of the rehabilitation and demolition that had. been accomplished on <br /> <br /> <br />
