4 <br /> <br />TUESDAY, JANUARY 14, 1992 <br /> <br />landfill development. Councilman Adams recommended that Mr. Heater <br />promptly acquire proposals to obtain complete information in the event <br />the City should need to further investigate the possibility of <br />utilizing the existing landfill property. <br /> <br />Mayor McClain reported to Council that, on December 30, 1991, he met <br />with Simon Spencer, who was at that time the Chairman of the Henry <br />County Board of Supervisors;-Mr. Lee Lintecum, County Administrator; <br />Mr. Mark Taylor and Mr. L. E. "Butch" Joyce of Joyce Engineering; and <br />Mr. Lance Heater, Acting City Manager. The Mayor noted that at the <br />December 30 meeting Joyce Engineering was directed to resume <br />negotiations with Chambers Development Company in order to pursue the <br />best possible deal for the City and County.. <br /> <br />Councilman Adams commented on the January 10 ABC television program, <br />"20/20", which featured a story on a landfill in Riverview, Michigan. <br />Me noted that the City of Riverview had prospered because of its <br />successful operation of a commercial landfill. Mr. Adams felt that it <br />would be helpful and 'informative to the public if Channel 6 televised <br />the tape, after getting proper approval from ABC. Channel 6 indicated <br />that they would contact ABC for approval. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and on a vote of 4 "yes" and 1 "no" <br />(Councilman Williams), Council approved, on first reading, with <br />modifications, Ordinance No. 91-20 amending the Subdivision Ordinance <br />in its entirety.'
