TUESDAY, JUNE 22, 1993

signal lights at the intersections
Market/Fayette and Market/Church streets.

of Market/Commonwealth,

Mayor McClain explained

that, should the Transportation Safety Commission recommend to Council
that signal lights be installed and should Council agree with the
proposal, it would need to be considered in the FY 94-95 Budget

process.

Charles Roark, 107 Courtney Terrace, asked Council members about the
most difficult aspect of being a Council member. Several Councilmen
stated that the most difficult part of being a Council member is to
attempt to provide citizens the services and projects they desire
within the constraints of a difficult financial situation.

Carolyn Beale, 509 Mulberry Road, commended City Public Works and
Electric Department crews on their efforts following a recent stormto
remove a downed tree and to restore electric service.

Gloria Hylton, 402 Second Street, thanked Council for providing
additional local funds for the School Division in FY 93-94.

There being no other comments from persons present, the Neighborhood
Town Meeting was ended. Mayor McClain and several members of Council
thanked all persons for attending and expressing their views.

Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council approved the
minutes of its June 8, 1993 meeting as circulated.

A retirement stipend was presented to Robert I. Corekin, Electric
Department Director, 21 years service (who was not present).
