].00 <br /> <br />TUESDAY, MAY 11, 1993 <br /> <br />first reading, Ordinance No. 93-4 amending Chapter 12, ArticleIII of <br />the City Code regarding exemption and reduction of motor vehicle decal <br />fees for disabled veterans and others. It was noted the changes were <br />needed in order to parallel State law. <br /> <br />Council considered authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement <br />with Piedmont Construction Corporation for the continuation of the <br />Stephens Street Project. Public Works Director Leon Towarnicki made a <br />presentation in which it was noted that the first phase of the project <br />was a continuation of a previous project and would follow standards as <br />provided by the City's Subdivision Ordinance. Phases II and III <br />followed the provisions of the City's Water and Sewer Extension <br />Ordinance with the exception that the City agreed toprovide materials <br /> <br />for the water <br />unanimous vote, <br />agreement. <br /> <br />line extension. <br /> <br /> Upon motion, duly seconded and by <br />Council authorized the City Manager to execute the <br /> <br />Council heard a report by the Commissioner of the Revenue on the 1993 <br />Real Estate Tax Relief for the Elderly and Totally and Permanently <br />Disabled in which it was noted that a total of $16,403 in relief had <br />been granted for 1993. Commissioner of Revenue J. Ronnie Minter was <br />present to give the report and to recommend the income ceiling for the <br />program be increased from $12,000 to $16,000 and the net worth <br />limitation be increased from $50,000 to $60,000. Upon motion, duly <br />seconded and by unanimous vote, Council accepted the recommendations of <br />the Commissioner. An Ordinance will be developed for adoption at a <br />future Council meeting in order to enact the changes. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by a vote of 3 "yes" and 2 "abstain" <br /> <br /> <br />
