TUESDAY, APRIL 13, 1993 <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council approved a <br />supplemental appropriation in the amount of $3,175 to the FY 92-93 <br />General Fund Budget to cover additional detention home expenses by the <br />Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court Service Unit. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council authorized <br />the City Treasurer to issue a refund of $98.95 on real estate taxes to <br />the Mount Sinai Apostle Church of Christ in God, 7 Peters Street, <br />because of an erroneous assessment. <br /> <br />Council acknowledged a quarterly report by the City Treasurer on the <br />investment of City funds. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council submitted the <br />following nominations to the Virginia Municipal League for membership <br />on its Policy Committees: Education--a member of the School Board, to <br />be chosen by the School Board; Community and Economic Development--City <br />Manager Reynolds; Environmental Quality--Councilman Draper; Effective <br />Government--Councilman Williams; Public Safety--Chief of Police Roop; <br />and Transportation--Public Works Director Towarnicki. <br /> <br />Council considered adoption of a Resolution relating to the City's <br />application to the Virginia Department of Housing and Community <br />Development for a Planning Grant under the Virginia Community <br />Development Block Grant Program. In response to a question by Council, <br />Mr. Reynolds'stated that, if the City is awarded the grant, funds for <br />the $7,700 proposed local match would be recommended to be taken from <br />the Housing Fund. Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, <br />Council adopted the following Resolution: <br /> <br /> <br />
