A regular semi-monthly Martinsville, Virginia, meeting of the with Vice-Mayor TUESDAY, DECEMBER 22, 1992 Council of the City of George B. Adams, Jr., presiding, was held Tuesday, December 22, 1992, at Clearview Elementary School, 800 Ainsley Street, beginning at 7:30 P.M. The following members of Council were present: George B. Adams, Jr., Vice-Mayor; Steve M. Draper; L. D. Oakes; and Clyde L. Williams. Absent was Mayor Allan McClain, who was ill. After the invocation, followed by Vice-Mayor Adams' cordial welcome to visitors present, Council approved the minutes of its December 8 and 11, 1992 meetings as circulated. Council conducted a public hearing and considered adoption, on second reading, of Ordinance No. 92-17 on a request from Richard M. Martin to amend Section VIII--Special Use Procedure, Paragraph K--Special Uses Permitted in the P-l, P-2 and R-P Districts Using the Special Use Procedure, of the City's Zoning Ordinance to allow florists to operate in these districts after the issuance of a Special Use Permit. Mr. Richard Martin spoke in favor of approval of the Ordinance. There being no other comments from the persons present, Vice-Mayor Adams declared the public hearing closed. Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council adopted the following Ordinance: BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in regular session assembled December 22, 1992, that it does hereby amend Section VIII--Special Use Procedure, Paragraph K--Special Uses Permitted in the P-l, P-2 and R-P Districts Using the Special Use Procedure, of the City's Zoning Ordinance by adding Sub-paragraph 6, as follows: SECTION VIII. SPECIAL USE PROCEDURE Special Uses Permitted in the P-l, P-2, and R-P Districts Using the Special Use Procedure.
