NOVEMBER 8. 1994 178 <br /> <br />tax purposes of the registered owner thereof under existing law, <br />the City need not comply with such covenants. <br /> <br />The City Council has selected and hereby appoints Sands, Anderson, <br />Marks & Miller, a Professional Corporation as the City's bond <br />counsel to supervise all proceedings relating to the issuance of <br />the Note and the Authority is hereby requested to designate such <br />counsel for the same purposes. <br /> <br />All other acts of the Mayor or Vice Mayor, the City Manager and <br />other officers of the City that are in conformity with the <br />purposes and intent of this resolution and in furtherance of the <br />plan of financing, the issuance and sale of the Note and the <br />undertaking of the Project are hereby approved and ratified. <br /> <br />This resolution shall take effect immediately. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council accepted and <br />appropriated $850.00 received from area businesses to assist the <br />Martinsville Transportation Safety Commission in utilizing the Car Guys <br />Vehicle Operation Program at the Oktoberfest. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council accepted and <br />appropriated monies received by the Police Department for Federal <br />Forfeited Asset Seizures as follows: $235.33 from the Virginia State <br />Police, 8604.05 from the United States Treasury, and Sl,868.01 from the <br />United States Treasury. <br /> <br />Council considered adoption of a Resolution endorsing the Martinsville <br />Uptown Revitalization Association's entry for the Great American Main <br />Street Award. Jennifer Dalla Vecchia, Executive Director of the <br />Association, was present to explain that the Association would receive <br />$5,000 if it received the Award.
