Agenda items will include the following: <br /> <br /> -The possibility of conducting a community forum on public <br /> education. <br /> <br /> -The possibility of conductingan assessment of education <br /> needs. <br /> <br />6. Explore consolidation of services. <br /> <br /> -Conduct a City Council/County Board retreat by February, 1995. <br /> <br />7. Advocate the elimination and reduction of unfunded State and <br /> Federal mandates. <br /> <br /> -Pass a resolution for State and Federal legislators, the Virginia <br /> Municipal League and National League of Cities regarding <br /> Council's position on mandates by October 10, 1994. <br /> <br /> -Furnish State and Federal Representatives updates on <br /> Martinsville's legislative concerns. <br /> <br /> -Continue Council/Staff active involvement in VML activities. <br /> <br /> -The Mayor will investigate the value of support for a paid <br /> legislative liaison with State representatives by January 30, <br /> 1995. <br /> <br />There being no other business to come before the Council, Mayor Adams <br /> <br />declared the meeting ad3ourned. <br /> <br />Lance G.
