TUESDAY. SEPTEMBER 27. 19943'41 <br />Administration to study the issue and report back to Council. There' <br />being no other persons wishing to address the Council, Mayor Adams and <br />the members of Council expressed appreciation to the citizens for their <br />comments. <br /> <br />A presentation of a new map of Martinsville and Henry County was made <br />by Larry Aydlett, Executive Director of the M-HC Chamber of Commerce, <br />and Robert W. Dowd, Executive Director of the West Piedmont Planning <br />District Commission. The map was a joint project of the Chamber and <br />the Planning District Commission. Mayor Adams and the members of <br />Council expressed appreciation for the work which was done in order to <br />complete the project. <br /> <br />Council considered authorizing a supplemental appropriation of $16,299 <br />to the FY 94-95 Meals Tax Fund budget in order to fund expenditures <br />associated with the preliminary stages of the Middle School building <br />program. Superintendent of Schools S. Harold Lamm explained the <br />appropriation would pay for a boundary survey ($2,800), asbestos <br />removal in the vocational building ($8,500), and educational technology <br />consulting services ($4,999). Upon motion, duly seconded and by <br />unanimous vote, Council approved the supplemental appropriation. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams presented a Proclamation to Reverend Tyler Millner <br />proclaiming October 21, 1994 as Citizen Awareness and Community <br />Involvement Day. Reverend Millher stated that this effort was designed <br />to encourage citizens to become involved in their community. <br /> <br />Council considered a request by Larry Ryder, Chairman of the Hooker <br />Field fund raising effort, for City funding to assist in the <br /> <br /> <br />
