].32. <br /> FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 9, 1994 <br /> <br /> -See that an annual meeting of those agencies involved in Economic <br /> Development is held to get progress reports and provide info on <br /> status of Economic Development plans and future directions. <br /> <br /> -See that potential industrial/commercial location sites in <br /> Martinsville are identified. <br /> <br /> 3. Maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of City services. <br /> -Conduct citizen survey(s) to evaluate Service Quality, etc. <br /> -Have Staff recommend objectives to improve effectiveness. <br /> -Provide Council with Audits of each department. <br /> -Establish a data base to respond to customer complaints. <br /> -Provide formal recognition of employees' adopted suggestions. <br /> <br /> 4.Support quality education. <br /> <br /> -Conduct Council/School Board Planning sessions at least annually. <br /> -See that a community forum on education is conducted. <br /> <br /> -See that an assessment of adult education needs is conducted. <br /> <br /> 5. Explore consolidation of services with other governmental <br /> subdivisions. <br /> <br /> -Conduct Council/Board of Supervisors retreat by February, 1995. <br /> <br /> 6. Seek opportunities to advocate reduction of State/Federal unfunded <br /> mandates. <br /> <br /> -Council members/staff to be active in state VML and Federal <br /> activities. <br /> <br /> -Provide state representatives with updates on Martinsville's <br /> legislative agenda and concerns. <br /> <br /> -Explore regional support for a State legislative liaison person. <br /> <br />The meeting was adjourned at approximately 3:00 P.M. on September 10. <br /> <br />Earl B.
