TUESDAY, AUGUST 9, 1994 <br />Oakes suggested that a paragraph be added to the lease providing for a <br />60-day notice of termination by either party. Upon motion, duly <br />seconded and by unanimous vote, Council approved the lease renewal with <br />the amendment suggested by Vice-Mayor Oakes. <br /> <br />Council acknowledged a financial report for the month ending 6/30/94. <br /> <br />In matters not on the agenda, the following items were discussed: (1) <br />in response to a question by a member of Council, Assistant City <br />Manager Dewey Cashwell stated that a representative from the Department <br />of Environmental Quality would be visiting the City later in the week <br />and that he was hopeful a resolution of the issue of relief from the <br />stringent color removal limits imposed upon the City's wastewater <br />treatment facility would be achieved; (2) Vice-Mayor Oakes announced he <br />would be attending the annual National League of Cities Conference to <br />be held in Minneapolis in December, 1994; and (3) Councilman Teague <br />announced he would be attending a meeting of the Virginia Municipal <br />League's Environmental Quality Policy Committee in Richmond the <br />following week. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams then declared the meeting ad3ourned. <br /> <br />Lance G.
