].14 <br /> TUESDAY. JULY 26. 1994 <br /> <br /> A regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of <br /> Martinsville, Virginia, with Mayor George B. Adams, Jr. presiding, was <br /> held Tuesday, July 26, 1994 in the Council Chamber, City Hall, <br /> beginning at 7:30 P.M. Present for the beginning of the meeting were <br /> George B. Adams, Jr., Mayor; L. D. Oakes, Vice-Mayor; M. Gene Teague; <br /> and Clyde L. Willjams. Mark A. Crabtree was not present for the <br /> beginning of the meeting, being away from the City. <br /> <br />After the invocation, followed by Mayor Adams' cordial welcome to <br />visitors present, Council approved the minutes of its July 12, 1994 <br />meeting as circulated. <br /> <br />Council recognized City retiree Amon T. Finney, Police Department, 26 <br />years of service. <br /> <br />Council recognized Robert C. "Husky" Hall, Martinsville High School <br />Basketball Coach, on his being awarded the National Coach of the Year. <br />Vice-Mayor Oakes, on behalf of Council, presented Coach Hall with a <br />framed newspaper article which covered the award presentation. Coach <br />Hall expressed appreciation to all those who have assisted him during <br />his tenure as Basketball Coach, with special recognition being given to <br />the City Recreation Department. <br /> <br />Council conducted a public hearing on Ordinance No. 94-7, an amendment <br />to Section XVI--Board of Zoning Appeals, Paragraph A--Re-establishment; <br />Compensation; Appointment and Terms of Members, of the Zoning <br />Ordinance. There being no persons present who wished to comment on <br />this matter, Mayor Adams declared the public hearing closed. Mayor <br />Adams explained that adoption of the amendment would change the method <br /> <br /> <br />
