102 <br /> <br />TUESDAY, JUNE 14, 1994 <br /> <br />BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that this action of the Council shall not <br />preclude or invalidate any employment contracts that may exist on <br />July 1, 1994, for employees, officers or officials outside of the <br />City's classified service. <br /> <br />In accordance with the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, and as amended) and upon <br />motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council convened into <br />Executive Session for the purpose of discussing the following matters: <br />(1) appointments/reappointments to the Planning Commission, Social <br />Services Board, M-HC Drug Task Force Board, M-HC Economic Development <br />Corporation Board, Office on Youth Commission for M-HC, Patrick Henry <br />Community College Board, West Piedmont Planning District Commission <br />Board, and Dan River Alcohol Safety Action Program Policy Board, as <br />authorized by Subsection 1; (2) a contractual matter, as authorized by <br />Subsection 7. At the conclusion of this Executive Session, each member <br />of Council certified that (1) only public business matters exempt from <br />open meeting requirements were discussed in said Executive Session; and <br />(2) only those business matters identified in the motion convening the <br />Executive Session were heard, discussed or considered during said <br />Session. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council made the <br />following appointments: PLANNING COMMISSION - reappointed Shelton H. <br />Blackwell, Jr. and Thomas R. McCann, appointed Donald A. Smith, William <br />R. Hopkins, and Thomas F. Harris to four-year terms beginning July 1, <br />1994; SOCIAL SERVICES BOARD - appointed Ralph J. Pruitt to a four-year <br />term beginning July 1, 1994; M-HC DRUG TASK FORCE - appointed Joseph D. <br />Higgins and Martha A. Farley to four-year terms beginning July 1, 1994; <br />M-HC ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION BOARD - appointed David S. Green <br />to a four-year term beginning July 1, 1994; OFFICE ON YOUTH COMMISSION <br /> <br /> <br />
