<br />July 1, 1994, these penalties would be assessed and payable for all
<br />false alarms in excess of six.
<br />
<br />Upon motion, duly seconded, and unanimous vote, Council approved a
<br />request by City Sheriff Steve Draper and appropriated $4,324 from the
<br />FY93-94 Capital Reserve Fund for the purchase and installation of a
<br />closed circuit television system in the City Jail. This would allow
<br />the Sheriff's personnel the capability to monitor three isolation cells
<br />and the area immediately outside of the main entrance to the jail
<br />facility.

<br />It was noted that the CODE OF VIRGINIA does not allow for a budget to
<br />
<br />be adopted until seven days following the public hearing. Council had
<br />
<br />conducted a public hearing on the FY94-95 Budget on May 10, 1994, and,
<br />
<br />in error, had adopted Ordinance No. 94-3 approving appropriations and
<br />
<br />establishing tax rates for FY94-95. Therefore, upon motion, duly
<br />
<br />seconded, and by unanimous vote, Council re-adopted Ordinance No. 94-3
<br />
<br />approving appropriations and establishing tax rates for the FY94-95
<br />
<br />Budget, as follows:
<br />
<br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in
<br />regular session assembled June 14, 1994, that the following sums of
<br />money be and hereby are appropriated--by Funds--for the City's fiscal
<br />year ending June 30, 1995, from the following Fund sources of estimated
<br />revenue:
