80 <br /> TUESDAY. MAY 10. 1994 <br /> <br /> A regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martins- <br /> ville, Virginia, with Mayor Allan McClain presiding, was held Tuesday, <br /> May 10, 1994, in the Council Chamber, City Hall, beginning at 9:30 A.M. <br /> All members of Council were present, except Vice-Mayor George B. Adams, <br /> Jr., who was out of town: Allan McClain, Mayor; L. D. Oakes, M. Gene <br /> Teague; and Clyde L. Willjams. <br /> <br />After the invocation, followed by Mayor McClain's cordial welcome to <br />visitors present, Council approved the minutes of its April 19, 20, 25 <br />and 26, 1994, meetings as amended. <br /> <br />Mayor McClain congratulated new Councilman-Elect Dr. Mark A. Crabtree <br />who was present and also Incumbent George B. Adams, Jr., on their <br />recent election to City Council. The Mayor also noted that Janice <br />Lawson was serving as Acting Clerk of Council in the absence of Lance <br />Heater. <br /> <br />Under Business from the Floor, Reverend Jimmie R. Hawkins, 408 Second <br />Street, expressed concern that street lights and poles damaged several <br />months ago on Fayette Street had not been replaced and/or repaired. <br />Eugene Richardson, Manager of the Electric Division, noted there was an <br />investigation pending the vandalism of these ornamental poles. City <br />Manager Earl B. Reynolds, Jr., stated the City would follow up on this <br />matter. <br /> <br />Mayor McClain and City Manager Reynolds, on behalf of City Council, <br />recognized, by presentation of a City Paperweight, several citizens for <br />their service on various Boards and Commissions. Present were Jean I. <br />Hairston for service on the Southern Area Agency on Aging Board from <br /> <br /> <br />
