TUESDAY. APRIL 26. 1994 <br /> <br />supplemental appropriation from the FY 93-94 Refuse Fund in the amount <br />of $193,825 for the emergency purchase of a compactor for the Landfill. <br />Mr. Reynolds noted the City's current compactor was inoperable and, due <br />to the new contract for use of the Landfill by Henry County beginning <br />July 1, 1994, the purchase of a new compactor was imperative. <br /> <br />Council considered tentative approval of the FY 94-95 Budget and <br />Financial Plan. Regarding the Refuse Fund, Mr. Reynolds stated that, <br />if there were no objections from the members of Council, the <br />Administration planned to ask Council to approve the establishment of <br />a Landfill Closure Reserve Fund after the FY 93-94 Audit is complete, <br />which will be in October or November, 1994. Mr. Reynolds said he will <br />be prepared at that time (and each year following the completion of the <br />Audit), to recommend to Council an amount of money which should be <br />transferred from the Refuse Fund to the Landfill Closure Reserve Fund, <br />which will eventually be used for closure and post-closure care of the <br />Landfill. No members of Council voiced ob3ection to this plan. Mr. <br />Reynolds also stated he planned to place on the May 10, 1994 Council <br />agenda consideration of budget/financial goals and objectives. Council <br />acknowledged receipt of a list of budget changes approved by Council <br />and a revised summary of estimated revenues and expenditures by fund. <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council tentatively <br />approved the FY 94-95 Budget as amended. <br /> <br />Council acknowledged a financial report for the month ending March 31, <br />1994. <br /> <br />In accordance with the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, and as amended) and upon <br />motion, duly seconded and by unanimous recorded vote, Council convened <br /> <br /> <br />
