TUESDAY, APRIL 26, 1994 <br /> <br />A regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of <br />Martinsville, Virginia, with Mayor Allan McClain presiding, was held <br />Tuesday, April 26, 1994, in the Council Chamber, City Hall, beginning <br />at 7:30 P.M. All members of Council were present: Allan McClain, <br />Mayor; George B. Adams, Jr., Vice-Mayor; L. D. Oakes; M. Gene Teague; <br />and Clyde L. Williams. <br /> <br />After the invocation, followed by Mayor McClain's cordial welcome to <br />visitors present, Council approved the minutes of its April 12 and 13, <br />1994 meetings as circulated. <br /> <br />Council conducted a public hearing on a request from William F. Stone, <br />Jr., Attorney, on behalf of Sallie M. Clark, to fezone Lot 3 on <br />Starling Avenue and Lot 5 on Cleveland Avenue, from R-6 Residential to <br />P-2 Professional. William F. Stone, Jr. spoke in support of the <br />request, noting that the rezoning is in accordance with the Land Use <br />Plan for the area. There being no other comments from persons present, <br />Mayor McClain declared the public hearing closed. Upon motion, duly <br />seconded and by unanimous vote, Council adopted the following <br />Ordinance: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br />Virginia in regular session assembled this twenty-sixth day <br />of April, 1994, that the Zoning Map of the City of <br />Martinsville, Virginia, be--and is hereby--amended to the <br />extent that Lot 3 on Starling Avenue and Lot 5 on Cleveland <br />Avenue are hereby rezoned from R-6 Residential to P-2 <br />Professional. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by said Council, that, an emergency <br />existing, this ordinance shall be in force on and after April <br />27, 1994. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council adopted, on <br />second reading, the following Ordinance 94-1: <br /> <br /> <br />
