TUESDAY, MARCH 22, 1994
additional police officers to the Department. Councilman Oakes
expressed concern over the Council making a commitment to permanently
adding two police officers to the Department. Mayor McClain stated
that it should be clear no commitment is being made to the program for
any period longer than the term of the grant (if received). Upon
motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council authorized the
submission of the grant application.

Council deferred consideration of the adoption of Goals and Objectives
for Council until the budget work sessions.

Council set the following dates (all meetings to begin at 2:00 P.M.)
for budget work sessions: April 13 (City Manager); April 19 (School
Division); and April 20 (Agencies and Constitutional Officers).

Council acknowledged a financial report for the month ending 2/28/94.

In a matter not on the agenda, Vice-Mayor Adams commended City workers
for their performance during the periods of ice and snow over the
Winter.

Mayor McClain then declared the meeting adjourned.

Heater, Clerk of Council
