TUESDAY, JANUARY 11, 1994 <br />consultation with legal counsel, as authorized by Subsection 7; (4) a <br />contractual matter, as authorized by Subsection 7; and (5) possible <br />sale of City owned property, as authorized by Subsection 3. At the <br />conclusion of this Executive Session, Councilman Oakes disclosed that <br />he had discussed a legal matter with the City Attorney during the <br />Executive Session which was not among the items identified in the <br />motion convening the Executive Session. Councilman Oakes said he had <br />asked the City Attorney if a member of City Council could serve on the <br />Planning Commission, to which City Attorney Worthy had advised that a <br />member of Council cannot serve on the Planning Commission. Following <br />the disclosure of this exception, each member of Council certified that <br />(1) only public business matters exempt from open meeting requirements <br />were discussed in said Executive Session; and (2) only those other <br />business matters identified in the motion convening the Executive <br />Session were heard, discussed or considered during said Session. <br /> <br />19 <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council appointed <br />Councilman M. Gene Teague to the West Piedmont Planning District Board <br />of Commissioners to a term ending June 30, 1996. <br /> <br />Regarding item #3 discussed in Executive Session, the Mayor read a <br />letter from Robert P. Lawler, Jr., Henry County Administrator, in which <br />Mr. Lawler advised Council of the Board of Supervisors' interest in <br />discussing a Joint City/County Industrial Park located at the <br />intersection of Route 58 Bypass and State Route 650, known as the <br />"Richardson property", provided the County's option for property <br />purchase is exercised on or before April 18, 1994. The Mayor then read <br />a response from himself, on behalf of Council, to Board Chairman Sandra <br />Hodges in which he stated the Council was very interested in pursuing <br /> <br /> <br />
