Coordinate with the State of North Carolina to achieve radesignation of Route 29 from Danville to Interstate 40/85 in Greensboro, N.C. as Interstate 785. Acquire right-of-way and construct Danvi!le Expressway southwest connector link to Route 58, from Route 29 South to Route 58 West. Martinsvii/e: 1) Improve the intersection of Liberty Street (Route 174), Stultz Road, and Clearview Drive; improve the section of Uberty Street from Commonwealth Boulevard north to the corporate limits, and to improve the action of Clearview Ddve from the intersection east (including its intsraections with Northside Drive and Barrows Mill Road) to a point opposite Royal Drive end the new entrance into the Clearview Business Park; and 2) Widen and realign the section of Fayarts Street (Route 57) from Pine Hall Road west to the corporate limits including curb, gutter, and aidewalk, and to replace an N&W Railroad underpass with severely restricted clearance; and 3) Extend Commonwealth Boulevard from Chatham Heights east to an intersection with East Church Street (US. 58) in the vicinity of RIdge Road ' 4) Suppert for Interstate 73 project. 5) Support for completion of Route 68 w-'~.sh'lard to its intersection with Interstate 77. Franklin Street (which becomes Route 40 West) to include the bridge at the Rocky Mount corporate limits, and install sidewalks. 4) Widening of Route 40 East out to Route 122, plus a new northbound interchange, cuts for sidewalks, eswar line installation, coordinated with the widening project. 5) Support for the efforts to upgrade Route 220 in order to make it a safer highway. 6) Support for development of Interstate 73, from Roanoke to the Virginia-North Carolina line.
