Franklin Street (which becomes Route 40 West) to include the bridge at the Rocky Mount <br /> corporate limits, and install sidewalks. <br />4) Widening of Route 40 East out to Route 122, plus a new northbound interchange, cuts for <br /> sidewalks, eswar line installation, coordinated with the widening project. <br />5) Support for the efforts to upgrade Route 220 in order to make it a safer highway. <br />6) Support for development of Interstate 73, from Roanoke to the Virginia-North Carolina line. <br /> <br /> <br />
