VII. Consider the following matters related to the FY1998-99 Budget: <br /> <br />VIII. <br /> <br />A. Accept and appropriate $95,000 from the sale of City-owned property at the <br /> comer of Market Street and Cleveland Avenue to Smart Thomas. <br /> <br />COMMENTS: We recommend that Council accept the $95,000 into <br />Revenue Account 16-000500-1899040--Proceeds from Land Sales and <br />appropriate $61,000 to Expenditure Account 16-950535-7981020-- <br />Miscellaneous Development Expenses in the Capital Reserve Fund. The <br />balance ($34,000) will be addressed in Item B below. <br /> <br />B. Appropriate $34,000 to the Piedmont Community Services Board towards <br /> construction costs of their new facility on Clay Street. (See Enclosure #5) <br /> <br />COMMENTS: As some of you will recall, Council received this request <br />during budget preparation and agreed to the concept, but did not make an <br />appropriation. This is the first of two like contributions--the other to be <br />from FY2000-2001 Budget. We recommend that Council appropriate <br />$34,000 from Revenue Account 16-000500-1899040---Proceeds from Land <br />Sales (See Item A) to Expenditure Account 16-950500-5604065--Piedmont <br />Community Services Building in the Capital Reserve Fund. <br /> <br />Consider, in Executive Session, in accordance with the Code of Virginia, Chapter <br />21--Freedom of Information Act, Section 2.1-344(A) Executive or Closed <br />Meetings, the following: <br /> <br />A. Appointments to Boards/Commissions, as authorized by Subsection 1: <br /> <br />1. ANCHOR Group Home System Commission. <br /> (One four-year term) <br /> <br />2. Martinsville Transportation Safety Commission. <br /> (Four four-year terms) <br /> <br />B.
