This process will not be changed <br />without consent of the Council. <br /> <br />Goal: <br /> <br />Promote citizen communications. <br /> <br />Objective: <br /> <br />Conduct four town meetings annually. <br /> <br />Action Agreements: <br /> <br />Meetings will be regular Council meetings and sites <br /> will be set by July of each year. <br />Meetings will provide an open agenda for citizen <br />input and be documented by the City Clerk. <br />Issues will be pre-determined by Council before <br /> meeting agenda is finalized. <br />Staff and Council will develop strategies to improve <br /> citizen participation in community meetings. <br />Feedback on how issues that arise out of community <br /> meetings have been handled will be provided to <br /> Council at its next meeting. <br /> <br />Objective: <br /> <br />Seek opportunities to discuss community issues with <br />organizations and community groups. Should be <br />joint Council/staff presentations. <br /> <br />Action Agreements: <br /> <br />Council will target groups for presentations. Staff <br /> will identify organizations and Council will <br /> cultivate their leadership to seek invitation to <br /> make presentations by September. <br />Staff will develop a multi-media presentation for <br /> use with community presentations by September. <br /> <br />Objective: <br /> <br />Provide public release of pre-approved position <br />papers on significant community issues. <br /> <br />Action Agreements: <br /> <br />Staff will release strategic plan and legislative <br />priorities during the Council year. <br /> <br />Objective: <br /> <br />Publish and distribute citizen newsletter. <br /> <br />Action Agreements: <br /> <br />Newsletter will be distributed three times each <br />year.
