TUESDAY, JULY 25, 199 <br />duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council adopted the following <br />Ordinance: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br />Virginia in regular session assembled this twenty-fifth day <br />of July, 1995, that the Zoning Map of the City of <br />Martinsville, Virginia, be--and is hereby--amended to the <br />extent that Lots 25 and 26, Section 46, Block B, on the Tax <br />Map of the City of Martinsville is hereby rezoned from R-9 <br />Residential to C-1A Commercial. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by said Council, that, an emergency <br />existing, this ordinance shall be in force on and after July <br />26, 1995. <br /> <br />Council conducted a public hearing to amend the City's Proposed Land <br />Use Plan Map to indicate the City-owned property at 1055 Brookdale <br />Street be changed from its current designation as Semi-Public to <br />Commercial. There being no comments from persons present, Mayor Adams <br />declared the public hearing closed. Upon motion, duly seconded and by <br />unanimous vote, Council adopted the following Ordinance: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br />Virginia, in regular meeting assembled July 25, 1995, that <br />the Land Use Plan of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, be-- <br />and is hereby--amended to the extent that Lots 25 and 26, <br />Section 46, Block B, on the Tax Map of the City of <br />Martinsville be and is hereby designated as being for <br />Commercial usage. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by said Council that, an emergency <br />existing, this ordinance shall be in force on an after July <br />26, 1995. <br /> <br />Council considered a report and recommendation by the Patrick Henry <br />Development Council on a Back-Office marketing proposal. Community <br />Development Coordinator Tom Harned, speaking on behalf of PHDC <br />Executive Director Frank Novakowski (who was away from the City), noted <br />the Patrick Henry Development Council Board had approved an agreement <br />between the PHDC and the firm which has proposed to perform the <br />marketing program, NCS International, at their last meeting.
