j,12 <br /> <br />FRIDAY, APRIL 21, 1995 <br /> <br />increase over FY 94-95, which was also recommended for funding by the <br /> <br />City Manager. <br /> <br />Bill Krause, Executive Director of the Piedmont Arts Association, <br />requested funding in the amount 0f $10,000 for FY 95-96, an increase of <br />$5,000 over FY 94-95. The City Manager recommended $5,000 in the basic <br />budget and $5,000 in the supplemental budget for the Association. <br /> <br />Earl Jones and Dr. Elizabet]~~ Roycroft were present to make the budget <br />request for the Health DepaFtment in the amount of $148,465, which was <br />recommended for funding by the City Manager. In response to a question <br />from Council, Mr. Jones said the Health Department staff would receive <br />a 2.25% salary increase during FY 95-96. <br /> <br />Tommy Cook made the budget request for the Martinsville-Henry County <br />Rescue Squad of $7,649, which was recommended for funding by the City <br />Manager. The request was a $54 increase over FY 94-95. <br /> <br />At this point, Ellen Bell-arrived with information regarding the salary <br />increases contained in the Library's budget request. Ms. Bell stated <br />the total increases averaged 4.1%. <br /> <br />Representing the Patrick Henry Development Council was Executive <br />Director Frank NoVakowski. Mr. Novakowski requested $100,000 from the <br />City for the PHDC's total local government budget of $250,000. The <br />remaining $150,000 was being requested from Henry County. The City <br />Manager's basic budgetI contained $77,000, with an additional <br /> <br />being recommended in the supplemental budget from the General Fund's <br /> <br />Industrial Development Authority reserve. <br /> <br /> <br />
