TUESDAY, APRIL 11, 1995 <br />artended on April 10; (3) Councilman Crabtree commended the Police <br />Department on the recent undercover drug operation; (4) Vice-Mayor <br />Oakes stated he had received positive comments regarding the Police <br />Department's Citizens' Police Academy; Vice-Mayor Oakes' comments were <br />supported by Gloria Hylton, who is attending the Academy; and (5) Mayor <br />Adams reviewed the strategic ob3ectives resulting from the Urban <br />Partnership meeting he artended the prior week. <br /> <br />Council considered asking the Planning Commission for a recommendation <br />on a request by the City Council tO rezone City-owned property located <br />at 1055 Brookdale Road from R-9 Residential to C-1A Commercial. Mayor <br />Adams reviewed the history of this property, which was purchased in <br />1971 as a possible location for a third fire station. However, since <br />the City has been prevented from annexation, that. location is not <br />optimal for locating a possible third fire station. Therefore, a <br />better use for the property may be as a commercial enterprise. Upon <br />motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council referred this <br />matter to the Planning Commission for recommendation. <br /> <br />In accordance with Section 2.1-344 (A) of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, <br />and as amended) and upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous <br />recorded vote, Council convened into Executive Session for the purpose <br />of discussing the following matters: (1) the possible disposition of <br />City-owned property, as authorized by Subsection 3; (2) a personnel <br />matter under the jurisdiction of Council, as authorized by Subsection <br />1; and (3) a personnel matter under the jurisdiction of Council, as <br />authorized by Subsection 1. At the conclusion of this Executive <br />Session, each member of Council certified that (1) only public business <br />matters exempt from open meeting requirements were discussed in said <br /> <br /> <br />
