TUESDAY, APRIL 11, 1995 <br /> <br />legislation providing for State payment of these additional benefit <br /> <br />costs. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council set a joint <br />public hearing with the Planning Commission for April 25, 1995 on an <br />amendment to the City Code, Appendix B--Zoning Ordinance, Section XIII- <br />-Manufacturing Districts, to add a new classification known as the B-1 <br />Business District. <br /> <br />In a matter not on the agenda, in response to a request by Mr. <br />Reynolds, Council agreed to begin its meeting scheduled for April 24, <br />1995 at 12 Noon rather than 1:30 P.M. <br /> <br />Council agreed to ask the following outside agencies to make <br />presentations at the April 21, 1995 special meeting: Piedmont Regional <br />CSB, Rescue Squad, Western Virginia EMS Council, West Piedmont PDC, <br />Uptown Revitalization, Patrick Henry. Development Council, Local <br />Emergency Planning Committee, Blue Ridge Airport, Drug Task Force, <br />Comprehensive Services Act, Blue Ridge Regional Library, Pittsylvania <br />County Community Action Agency, Virginia Museum of Natural History, <br />YMCA, Gateway Streetscape, Emergency Operations Center, 911 Center, <br />Piedmont Arts, and Public Health Center. <br /> <br />In matters not on the agenda, the followin9 items were discussed: (1) <br />Vice-Mayor Oakes stated he was concerned about trash and the curb <br />appeal of the City and asked the Administration to review this matter <br />to determine if a City-wide cleanup effort could be initiated; (2) <br />Councilman Williams congratulated the City on cleanup week and <br />complemented the Albert Harris School faculty for a program which he <br /> <br /> <br />
