TUESDAY, APRIL 11, 1995 <br />Elizabeth Haskell, Chairman of the Action Council, presented a status <br />report on the work done to date by the Action Council, including the <br />establishment of committees, development of a statement of purpose, <br />development of a set of rules and protocols, and an agreement that all <br />decisions made by the Action Council would be by consensus. Ms. <br />Haskell noted that the Action Council was planning for an Industry <br />Appreciation Week (May 21-27), working on an application for a School- <br />To-Work Implementation Grant, and beginning a video record of its <br />proceedings. Ms. Haskell requested a total budget of $89,100 for the <br />Action Council, $44,328 of which would be needed for FY 94-95, and <br />$44,772 of which would be needed for FY 95-96. Of the total amount, <br />the City Council would be responsible for 40%, or $35,640. The members <br />of the Board of Supervisors and City Council expressed appreciation to <br />Ms. Haskell for her work on behalf of the community. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams then declared the meeting in recess. <br /> <br />The meeting was reconvened at 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chamber, City <br />Hall, with all members present except Councilman Crabtree, who was <br />attending a School function for his daughter. <br /> <br />After the invocation, followed by Mayor Adams' cordial welcome to <br />visitors present, Council approved the minutes of its meetings of April <br />28 and 29, 1995 as circulated. <br /> <br />Under Business from the Floor, Lafayette Jones, 501 Second Street, <br />expressed appreciation to the City Electric Department for installation <br />of new street lights on Second Street. <br /> <br /> <br />
