TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 14, 1995 <br />Adams stated the Henry County Board of Supervisors had inquired as to <br />what the next response should be to the joint letter from the Mayor and <br />Board Chairman regarding the future of the Virginia Museum of Natural <br />History, to which he noted several responses to the letter had been <br />received and a meeting would be scheduled soon to discuss. <br /> <br />In accordance with the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, and as amended) and upon <br />motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council convened into <br />Executive Session for the purpose of discussing the following matters: <br />(1) discussion and consideration of the investment of public funds <br />where competition is involved, which has not been publicly discussed at <br />this time due to a possible adverse effect on the financial structure <br />of the City, as authorized by Subsection 6; (2) discussion concerning <br />a prospective business where no previous announcement has been made, as <br />authorized by Subsection 5; and (3) discussion and consideration of the <br />condition, acquisition or use of real property for public purposes, as <br />authorized by Subsection 3. At the conclusion of this Executive Ses- <br />sion,'each member of Council certified that (1) only public business <br />matters exempt from open meeting requirements were discussed in said <br />Executive Session; and (2) only those business matters identified in <br />the motion convening the Executive Session were heard, discussed or <br />considered during said Session. <br /> <br />Council took no action on Items 1 and 2. <br /> <br />Relative to Item 3, upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, <br />Council authorized the City Manager to employ a consultant (Smith & <br />Beasley) to conduct a feasibility study to create additional space to <br />relieve the current overcrowded conditions in the City Jail and <br /> <br /> <br />
