TUESDAY, JANUARY 24. 1995 <br />Court. Service Unit for additional funding for Detention Home Expense <br />for FY 94-95. City Manager Earl B. Reynolds, Jr. recommended Council <br />approve the supplemental appropriation request. Mr. Jan Reed, Court <br />Services Director, stated that to date $28,600 out of $30,000 budgeted <br />for Detention Home Expense had been expended. Mr. Reed requested an <br />additional appropriation of $16,761 to fund this expense through the <br />end of the fiscal year. Mr. Reed noted that 'it is impossible to <br />accurately predict the level of this expense in the annual budget. <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council approved the <br />supplemental appropriation request in the amount of $16,761, to be <br />taken from the General Fund unexpended fund balance. <br /> <br />Council considered a request by the School Superintendent for an <br />appropriation of $2,259.88 from the General Fund to the Cafeteria Fund. <br />Mr. Reynolds said that funds received from the sale of food service <br />equipment from the recent School Surplus Sale had been deposited to <br />School-related budget line items in the General Fund. However, these <br />funds must revert back to the food service program, therefore, this <br />appropriation is necessary to meet this requirement. Upon motion, duly <br />seconded and by unanimous vote, Council approved the appropriation as <br />requested. <br /> <br />Council considered adoption of a Resolution supporting the Uptown <br />Revitalization Association in their application to the Virginia <br />Department of Transportation for a grant through the Intermodal Surface <br />Transportation Efficiency Act program for improvements to the <br />Bridge/Church/Main street parking lot. Jennifer D. Dalla Vecchia, <br />Executive Director of the Association, spoke in favor of adoption of <br />the Resolution. Ms. Dalla Vecchia noted the Association is proposing <br /> <br /> <br />
