TUESDAY, JANUARY 10, 1995 <br />present. to respond' to' questions from the members of Council. <br /> <br />In matters not on the 'agenda, Gloria Hylton, 402 Second Street, <br />expressed appreciation. to the City for drainage improvements in the <br />Second Street area and Councilman Crabtree commended the City Manager <br />and staff for addressing customer service concerns. <br /> <br />In accordance with Section 2.1-344 (A) of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, <br />and as amended) and upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous <br />recorded vote, Council convened into Executive Session for the purpose <br />of discussing the following matters: (1) appointment to the West <br />Piedmont'Planning District Commission Technical Advisory Committee and <br />nominations to the Virginia Chamber of Commerce Emissaries Program, as <br />authorized by Subsection 1; (2) consultation with legal counsel, as <br />authorized by Subsection 7; (3) discussion concerning a prospective <br />business where no previous announcement has been made, as authorized by <br />Subsection 5; (4) possible sale of real property, as authorized by <br />Subsection 3; (5) consultation with legal counsel, as authorized by <br />Subsection 7; and (6) possible acquisition of real property for public <br />purposes, as authorized by Subsection 3. At the conclusion of this <br />Executive Session, each member of Council certified that (1) only <br />public business matters exempt from open meeting requirements were <br />discussed in said Executive Session; and (2) only those business <br />matters identified in the motion convening the Executive Session were <br />heard, discussed or considered during said Session. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council appointed <br />Lafayette C. Jones, 501 Second Street, to a term ending 12/31/98 as an <br />Alternate member of the West Piedmont Planning District Commission <br /> <br /> <br />
