18 <br /> <br />TUESDAY, DECEMBER 13, 1994 <br /> <br />Resolution authorizing the Finance .Director, Treasurer, and City <br />Manager to sign and maintain an account for investment purposes at <br />Nations Bank. The City Manager noted that this was a routine matter <br />related to the investment of monies from the Refuse CollectionFund for <br />Landfill Closure/Post Closure costs, as authorized at the November 22, <br />1994 City Council meeting. <br /> <br />Council acknowledged a financial report for the month ending November <br />30, 1994. <br /> <br />In accordance with Section 2.1-344 (A) of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, <br />and as amended) and upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous <br />recorded-vote, Council convened into Executive Session for the purpose <br />of discussing the following matters: (1) appointments to the <br />Transportation Safety Commission, ANCHOR Group Home System Commission, <br />West Piedmont PDC Technical Advisory Committee, and Western Virginia <br />Emergency Medical Services Council, as authorized by Subsection 1; (2) <br />possible purchase of property for public use, as authorized by <br />Subsection 3; (3) nominees for appointment to the Educational Systems <br />Optimization Task Force, as authorized by Subsection 1; (4) nominees <br />for appointment to the Virginia Chamber of Commerce Emissaries Program, <br />as authorized by Subsection 1; and (5) possible acquisition of property <br />for public use, as authorized by Subsection 3. At the conclusion of <br />this Executive Session, each member of Council certified that (1) only <br />public business matters exempt from open meeting requirements were <br />discussed in said Executive Session; and (2) only those business <br />matters identified in the motion convening the Executive Session were <br />heard, discussed or considered during said Session. <br /> <br /> <br />
