TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, 1996 <br /> <br />Patrick Henry National Bank for the financing of nine new school buses. <br />Director of Finance Richard D. Fitts noted that this is an initial <br />draw-down of a total financing package of approximately $380,000. The <br />initial draw is to fund the school bus chassis. Upon motion, duly <br />seconded and by unanimous vote, Council accepted and appropriated the <br />funds to the FY 96-97 School Fund budget. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council designated <br />the Mayor as voting delegate and Vice-Mayor as alternate for the 1996 <br />Virginia Municipal League's Annual Conference to be held in Roanoke on <br />October 20-22. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council rescheduled <br />Council's second regular meeting in October from October 22 to October <br />31, beginning at 9:00 A.M. The change was necessary due to the <br />aforementioned VML Annual Conference. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council set public <br />hearings for October 8, 1996 on the following matters: (1) Ordinance <br />No. 96-10 amending the City's Zoning Ordinance in order to establish an <br />R-5 Residential District; and (2) rezoning a number of properties from <br />R-6 and R-9 Residential to R-5 Residential. <br /> <br />Council acknowledged a financial report for the month ending August 31, <br />1996. <br /> <br />In accordance with Section 2.1-344 (A) of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, <br />and as amended) and upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous <br />recorded vote, Council convened into Executive Session for the purpose <br /> <br /> <br />
