146 <br /> <br />THURSDAY, MAY 2, 1996 <br /> <br />Adams suggested the Museum should review the proportion of funding <br />which should be requested from the City and the County, noting the <br />disparity in population between the two entities. <br /> <br />Representing the 911 Communications Center was Gale Stone, substituting <br />for Henry Gilbert, Center Director. The Center requested funding of <br />$169,805, however the City Manager's proposed budget included only <br />$165,619. City Manager Earl B. Reynolds, Jr. stated he would review <br />the matter to determine the correct level of funding. Mayor Adams <br />suggested Council review the possibility of increasing the 911 <br />surcharge, which is charged to City and County telephone consumers. <br /> <br />Pat Conrad, Director of Social Services, was present to request funding <br />for the Comprehensive Services Act. Ms. Conrad requested, and the City <br />Manager recommended, level funding in the amount of $126,885. <br /> <br />The budget request for:the Blue Ridge Airport was made by Gene Stanley, <br />Chairman of the Airport's Board of Directors. The Airport requested, <br />and the City Manager recommended, level funding in the amount of <br />$30,000. Mayor Adams suggested the Airport should review the <br />proportion of funding which should be requested from the City and the <br />County, noting the disparity in population between the two entities. <br /> <br />Dwight Mack, Executive Director of FOCUS, requested $3,000 for FY 96- <br />97. The City Manager recommended level funding of $1,000 in the basic <br />budget and $2,000 in the supplemental budget. <br /> <br />Representing the Piedmont Arts Association was Executive Director Bill <br />Krause.
