Under the video process, persons would be able to <br />access a magistrate from the City via a television hookup at the new <br />County Courthouse location. Therefore, the staff was not making a <br />request of Council at this time. <br /> <br />1.01 <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council approved a <br />supplemental appropriation in the amount of $5,000 to be taken from the <br />unexpended fund balance of the Housing Services Fund and appropriated <br />to the ADP Equipment line item in the Housing Services Fund. The funds <br />were to be used for purchase of computer equipment to be used in the <br />administration of the property maintenance and code enforcement <br />program. <br /> <br />In a matter not on the agenda, Councilman Willjams recognized the <br />presence of Elizabeth Haskell, who had earlier announced her intention <br />to seek election to City Council in the May, 1996 Councilmanic <br />election. <br /> <br />In accordance with Section 2.1-344 (A) of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, <br />and as amended) and upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous <br />recorded vote, Council convened into Executive Session for the purpose <br />of discussing the following matters: (1) appointments to the Patrick <br />Henry Development Council and Office on Youth Board, as authorized by <br />Subsection 1; (2) the possible acquisition of real property for public <br />purposes, as authorized by Subsection 3; (3) the possible acquisition <br />of real property for public purposes, as authorized by Subsection 3; <br />(4) the investment of public funds where competition or bargaining is <br /> <br /> <br />
