JANUARY 4. 1996 <br />matters. <br /> <br />There was a general discussion of plans for expansion of the City Jail. <br />Mr. Reynolds stated the City was eligible for reimbursement by the <br />State of "up to 25%" of the costs of the project. Mr. Reynolds <br />explained the additional costs incurred by localities due to the time <br />lag between expenditure and reimbursement. <br /> <br />Delegate Armstrong left the meeting at 10:00 A.M. <br />appointment. <br /> <br />for a Court <br /> <br />In discussing the Urban Partnership, it was noted localities should be <br />able to enter into revenue.sharing agreements for joint projects. <br /> <br />In discussing the Virginia Museum of Natural History, it was noted the <br />City would like to request State funding for an expansion of the Museum <br />facility. <br /> <br />There being no other legislative matters to discuss, the Council and <br />School Board expressed appreciation to Senator Goode for taking time to <br />hear the City's concerns. <br /> <br />In accordance with Section 2.1-344 (A) of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, <br />and as amended) and upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous <br />recorded vote, Council and the School Board convened into Executive <br />Session for the purpose of discussing the investing of public funds <br />where competition or bargaining is involved, where, if made public <br />initially, the financial interest of the governmental unit would be <br />adversely affected.
