TUESDAY, DECEMBER 12, 1995

State funding by $2,580 and reducing the City's contribution by S3,375.
It was noted that the Social Services Department had to estimate the
State contribution during the development of the City's budget because
official budget figures had not been received from the State.

Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council approved the
following supplemental appropriations to the FY95-96 Social Services
budget: (1) $17,160 received from the State for the Head Start
Wraparound Child Care Program; (2) $1,470 received from the State for
the Independent Living Special Initiatives Program; and (3) $10,000 to
be received from the State for the Family Preservation Program. It was
noted the 3rd item would only be expended after the program is approved
and funded by the State.

Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council approved a
8159,154 transfer of the FY 94-95 Reserve for Capital Funds from the
General Fund capital reserve to the Capital Reserve Fund for FY 95-96.
These funds resulted from savings and uncompleted acquisitions during
the year.

Council considered a request from the Region 10 Economic Development
Advisory Council for an endorsement of their Existing Workforce
Development Fund Pilot Program request for funding from the Governor.
Tom Harned, Asst. to the City Manager for Development, explained that
Region 10 is a Governor-appointed Council with no funding source.
Region 10 is requesting funding in the Governor's FY 96-98 biennium
budget and is seeking City Council's endorsement. Upon motion, duly
seconded and by unanimous vote, Council endorsed the Region 10 request.
