TUESDAY. OCTOBER 24, 1995 <br />A regular, semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of <br />Martinsville, Virginia, with Mayor George B. Adams, Jr. presiding, was <br />held Tuesday, October 24, 1995 in the Council Chamber, City Hall, <br />beginning at 12:00 P.M. All members of Council were present: George <br />B. Adams, Jr., Mayor; L. D. Oakes, Vice-Mayor; Mark A. Crabtree; M. <br />Gene Teague; and Clyde L. Willjams. <br /> <br />Also in attendance were members of the Martinsville City School Board: <br />Judith Matthews, Chairman; Bernie F. Gray, Jr.; James H. Johnson, Jr.; <br />and William Shackleford, Sr. <br /> <br />In accordance with Section 2.1-344 (A) of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, <br />and as amended) and upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous <br />recorded vote, Council convened into Executive Session for the purpose <br />of discussing the investment of public funds, as authorized by <br />Subsection 6. At the conclusion of this Executive Session, each member <br />of Council certified that (1) only public business matters exempt from <br />open meeting requirements were discussed in said Executive Session; and <br />(2) only those business matters identified in the motion convening the <br />Executive Session were heard, discussed or considered during said <br />Session. <br /> <br />Council took no action on the matter discussed in Executive Session. <br /> <br />The Mayor then declared the meeting in recess until 7:30 P~M. <br /> <br />The meeting was reconvened for the regular agenda at 7:30 P.M., with <br />all members of Council being present. <br /> <br /> <br />
