1.44

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 8, 1998

Under items not on the Agenda, Mayor Crabtree reminded Council of an Attorney General' s
summit meeting on September 14, 1998, in Roanoke, Virginia, concerning Gangs and Youth Violence,
and encouraged the Council Members to attend, if possible. Mayor Crabtree also reminded Council that
he would be out of town the following week to attend the Virginia Dental Association meeting. Council
Member Dallas then asked why there had been a charge to City employees for the upcoming Employee's
Picnic, rather than free meal tickets, and was told that this small charge of fifty cents was done to provide
a valid head count and a commitment to attend to reduce waste of the food provided.

There being no further business to come before Council during their regular meeting, upon motion
duly seconded, by unanimous vote, Mayor Crabtree declared the meeting adjourned.

e~weyp~.as~'hwell, Jr.,~~/
Assistant City Manager
and Clerk of Council

Mark A.
