Upon motion duly seconded and by unanimous approval Council voted to allow the
Police Department to accept the funds as noted, and use same to purchase mobile laptop computers.

Council next considered a request from the West Piedmont Planning District Commission for the Council's
formal endorsement of their request for an increase in funds from the General Assembly. Mr. Bob Dowd,
Executive Director of the WPPDC, noted that his agency gets $52,000 per year now, and would get $100,000
per year under the new formula he has proposed. Council Member Haskell noted her support of the request,
and vowed to assist in the effort by lending her personal support through the placement of phone calls to key
officials in Richmond. Council Member Teague also expressed his support of the effort. Upon motion duly
seconded, and by unanimous vote, Council adopted the following Resolution in support of the Planning
District's request:

RESOLUTION
