TUESDAY, JANUARY 13, 1998 <br /> <br />Council next considered several requests by the Fire Department for appropriation/re-appropriation of funds <br /> <br /> Upon motion duly seconded and by unanimous approval, Council approved the <br /> <br />within the FY97-98 budget. <br />following: <br /> <br /> Accepted and appropriated donations of $625.00 into Revenue Account 01-000500-1899057 <br />for expenditure from Account 01-320100-5401020 Fire Prevention in the FY97-98 General Fund Budget. <br /> <br /> Re-appropriated $564.00 in unexpended Fire Programs Grant funds from FY96-97 Revenue <br />Account 01-000500-8205000, Unexpended Fund Balance to Revenue Account 01-000500-2403040--Fire <br />Grant/State for expenditure in Account 01-320100-5410010--State Grant/Fire Programs in the FY97-98 <br />General Fund Budget. <br /> <br /> Re-Appropriated $19,916.21 in grant funds from Department of Fire Programs from Revenue <br />Account 01-000500-8205000 FY96-97 Unexpended Fund Balance to Revenue Account 01-000500- <br />2403040--Fire Grant/State for expenditure from Account 01-320100-541001 O--State Grant/Fire Programs <br />in the FY97-98 General Fund Budget. <br /> <br /> Accepted $2,130.00 in grant funds from the Virginia Department of Fire Programs into <br />Revenue Account 01-000500-2403040--Fire Grant/State for expenditure from Account 01-320100- <br />7007000--ADP Equipment in the FY97-98 General Fund Budget. <br /> <br />Council next considered a Staff Financial Report from Mr. Wade Bartlett, Director of Finance. After review <br />of the written report, Mayor Adams asked about the timing on the disposition of the R. P. Thomas Trucking <br />Facility property. Mr. Reynolds stated that this was not ready for action yet, but that he would keep Council <br />informed. The Mayor then asked about the pace and nature of expenditures for the current school project, <br />and Mr. Reynolds assured him that expenditures had been handle to this point in a manner consistent with <br />maximizing the City's investment earnings while paying the cost of the work being done. Vice-Mayor <br />Crabtree noted the level of sales tax revenues, which Mr. Bartlett said were chronologically behind the actual <br />seasonal activity, while pointing out that overall revenues were up.
