TUESDAY, DECEMBER 9, 1997 <br /> <br />Under Items Not On the Agenda, Council discussed the following: Vice-Mayor Crabtree noted that he had <br /> <br />represented the Mayor recently on two occasions: The Wo~d Hunger Conference at Mr. Sinai Church and <br />the Thanksgiving Sendee at the Broad Street Christian Church. In response to a question from Ms. Gloria <br />Hylton, from the audience, Councilmember Dallas stated that City staff and Council should be sure and let <br />churches in the area know when an auction of property related to the K. P. Thomas project would take place. <br /> <br />Following the above discussion, and in accordance with Section 2.1-344 (A) of the CODE OF VIRGINIA <br />(1950, and as amended) and upon motion, duly seconded, and by unanimous recorded vote, Council convened <br />in Executive Session for the purpose of discussing the following matters: (A.) Possible disposition of publicly <br />held property, as authorized by Subsection 3 .; (B.)Appointments/Re-appointments to various <br />Boards/Commissions, as authorized by Subsection 1 <br /> <br />At the conclusion of this Executive Session, each member of Council certified that (1) only public business <br />matters exempt from open meeting requirements were discussed in said executive session; and (2) only those <br />business matters identified in the motion convening the Executive Session were heard, discussed, or <br />considered during said Session. <br /> <br />Following their return to open meeting Council took the following actions: <br /> <br />Under Item A. of the above Executive Session no action was taken. Under Item B. the following actions were <br />taken: <br /> <br />Upon motion duly seconded, and by unanimous vote, Council approved the following appointment: <br /> <br />Mr. John B. PhiIlips, of 1005 Jefferson Circle, was appointed to the Transportation Safety Commission for a three- <br />year term beginning January 1, 1998 and ending December 31, 2001. <br /> <br />There being no further business to come before Council, upon motion duly seconded, by unanimous vote, <br />Mayor Adams declared the meeting adjourned. <br /> <br /> <br />
