TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 25, 1997 <br />finances. <br /> <br />87 <br /> <br />Under Items Not on the Agenda, Coundlmember Dallas congratulated the City Manager and Staff on their <br />success in the recent acquisition of the R. P. Thomas, Old Hospital, Hooker Field, Tultex, and W. M. Basseli <br />properties, and stated that this was a very generous community. Mr. Reynolds then reminded the Council that their <br />next Regular Council Meeting would be a Neighborhood Meeting, to be held at the High School on December 9, <br />1997. He also reminded Council that there would be a neighborhood tour and reception prior to the meeting on <br />that date, with the reception to begin at 6:00 P. M., and that the tour time had not yet been scheduled. Mr. <br />Reynolds also reminded Council of their upcoming joint meeting with the Henry County Board of Supervisors, to <br />be held on December 8, 1997, to discuss the cable t. v. franchise. <br /> <br />Following the above discussion, and in accordance with Section 2.1-344 (A) of the CODE OF VIRGINIA <br />(1950, and as amended) and upon motion, duly seconded, and by unanimous recorded vote, Council convened <br />in Executive Session for the purpose of discussing the following matters: (A) Appointments/Re-appointments <br />to various Boards/Commissions, as authorized by Subsection 1. <br /> <br />At the conclusion of this Executive Session, each member of Council certified that (1) only public business <br />matters exempt from open meeting requirements were discussed in said executive session; and (2) only those <br />business matters identified in the motion convening the Executive Session were heard, discussed, or <br />considered during said Session. <br /> <br />Following their return to open meeting upon motion duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council took the <br />following actions: <br /> <br /> <br />
