TUESDAY, MAY 27, 1997 <br />revenue shown in the adopted budget or the sum of $500,000, whichever <br />is lesser. In response to a question from a member of Council, Thomas <br />Harned, Assistant to the City Manager for Development, stated that an <br />announcement regarding a grant from the Economic Development <br />Administration for Clearview Business Park development should take <br />place soon. Also in response to a question from a Council Member, Mr. <br />Harned stated the $728,000 appropriation will fund the entire local <br />expenditure for Park development, however, it was hoped that the City <br />would receive State Community Development Block Grant funding which <br />will supplant a large portion of this local funding. The Vice-Mayor <br />then declared the public hearing open. There being no comments from <br />persons present, the public hearing was declared closed. Upon motion, <br />duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council approved the supplemental <br />appropriation as requested. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council adopted, on <br />second reading, Ordinance No. 97-6 amending the Terms and Conditions of <br />Water and Sewer Service in order to increase the minimum monthly <br />charges for water and sewer service, as provided for in the FY 97-98 <br />Budget. A copy of this Ordinance is attached to these minutes. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council adopted, on <br />second reading, the following Ordinance No. 97-7 (which becomes <br />effective July 1, 1997) amending Chapter 18 of the City Code related to <br />refuse collection fees in order to increase these fees, as provided for <br />in the FY 97-98 Budget: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in <br />regular session assembled May 27, 1997, that it does hereby amend <br />Chapter 18--Solid Waste, Article II--In General, Section 18-24--Fee <br />Schedule of the City Code, as follows: <br /> <br /> <br />
