Revitalization Association by 85,000. <br /> <br />second. <br /> <br /> TUESDAY, APRIL 22, 1997 <br />This motion died for lack of a <br /> <br />-14:5 <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council accepted the <br />City Manager's recommendation to eliminate 830,000 in funding for the <br />Blue Ridge Regional Airport. Mr. Reynolds explained the Airport had <br />given Council the option of funding or not funding their request this <br />year, as no current capital pro3ect was planned. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by a vote of 4-0 (Council Member Dallas <br />abstaining), Council did not accept the City Manager's recommendation <br />to reduce funding for the Virginia Museum of Natural History by <br />815,000. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council did not <br />accept the City Manager's recommendation to reduce funding for the Blue <br />Ridge Regional Library by 85,689. <br /> <br />Council Member Haskell made a motion, seconded by Council Member <br />Teague, that 85,000 in funding for the Historical Society, which had <br />been recommended for elimination by the City Manager, be restored. A <br />vote of 2-2-0 followed (Council Members Haskell and Teague voting in <br />support of the motion, Mayor Adams and Vice-Mayor Crabtree voting in <br />opposition, and Council Member Dallas abstaining), therefore, the <br />motion failed. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council accepted the <br />City Manager's proposal to implement an average 2% salary increase for <br />City and School Division employees effective July 1, 1997. <br /> <br /> <br />
