TUESDAY. APRIL 8. 1997 <br /> <br />implement the Comprehensive Community Corrections Act for Local <br />Responsible Offenders and the Pretrial Services Act, and that the <br />Martinsville Sheriff's Office be responsible for said implementation; <br />and <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Martinsville Community Criminal <br />Justice Board be established and that the following individuals be <br />hereby appointed to said Board pursuant to Section 53.1-183 of the Code <br />of Virginia: <br /> <br />The Judge of the Martinsville Circuit Court <br />The Judge of the Martinsville General District Court <br />The Judge of the Martinsville Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court <br />The Commonwealth's Attorney for the City of Martinsville <br />The Sheriff for the City of Martinsville <br />The Chief of Police for the City of Martinsville <br />The Chief Magistrate for the 21st Judicial District <br />The Assistant City Manager <br />The Public Defender <br />The School Superintendent for the City of Martinsville <br />One citizen to be appointed at the discretion of MartinsVille City <br />Council at a future meeting <br />The Executive Director of the Martinsville-Henry County Drug Task <br />Force <br />The Executive Director of the Piedmont Community Services Board <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council accepted and <br />appropriated $35,000 received by the Schools for the Project Health Net <br />Grant. Ira Trollinger, School Superintendent, was present to answer <br />questions from the Members of Council regarding this matter. Several <br />Council Members noted this was another example of the results achieved <br />by the School Division's Grant Writer, Nancy Bell. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council accepted and <br />appropriated 8124.60 received from the U. S. Treasury as Forfeited <br />Asset Funds to the Police Department's FY 96-97 Budget. <br /> <br />Council considered two supplemental appropriations from the FY 96-97 <br />Meals Tax Fund unexpended fund balance. Finance Director Richard Fitts <br />noted that during the current year ongoing professional services fees <br />related to the Middle School pro3ect had been incurred. These charges <br />totaled $22,257. In addition, the City and School System commissioned <br /> <br /> <br />
