TUESDAY, JANUARY 14, 1997 <br /> <br />In accordance with Section 2.1-344 (A) of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, <br />and as amended) and upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous <br />recorded vote, Council convened into Executive Session for the purpose <br />of discussing the following matters: (1) appointments to the Board of <br />Zoning Appeals, Transportation Safety Commission, Youth Services <br />Commission and Social Services Administrative Board, as authorized by <br />Subsection 2; (2) the possible acquisition of real property for public <br />purposes, as authorized by Subsection 3; (3) possible disposition of <br />City property, as authorized by Subsection 3; and (4) consultation with <br />legal counsel, as authorized by Subsection 7. At the conclusion of <br />this Executive Session, each member of Council certified that (1) only <br />public business matters exempt from open meeting requirements were <br />discussed in said Executive Session; and (2) only those business <br />matters identified in the motion convening the Executive Session were <br />heard, discussed or considered during said Session. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council appointed <br />Berkely Doss, 918 Dundee Court, and Nicassio Johnson, 1158 Banner <br />Street, as student members of the Transportation Safety Commission for <br />the 1996-97 School Year. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council appointed <br />Lavell Payne, 911 Cole Street, as a youth member of the Youth Services <br />Commission for a one-year term. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council appointed the <br />following individuals to the Board of the Joint City/County Social <br />Services Department for staggered terms beginning June 1, 1997: (1) <br />Wanda Rider, 916 Hunting Ridge Road, one-year term; (2) Anne F. <br /> <br /> <br />
